Abbey with 3.1 kids to care for at home is something of the extraordinary. She keeps them busy by teaching, training, planning and feeding all three while keeping herself sane by talking with other moms. At the end of the each day she wonders why she keeps this up; because at the beginning of each morning she is reminded with the great smiles and kisses from all her kids: Zhao Kids.
As our tradition we went to visit our friends up in New York. This year Nancy Chin was gracious enough for us to stay at her house while we visited friends up there. We visited Diane ma and her husband, popo, other NY friends, and members from the 8th Chinese branch in Brooklyn. We actually got quite a bit accomplished this year.
A quote from Abbey on her facebook post:
"We had a wonderful trip to NY over the Thanksgiving weekend. Hightlight of the trip is Clayton's first baptism for the dead at the Manhattan Temple. The first councilor of the temple presidency welcomed us and beared his testimony. He told the boys even we do not remember the people we baptized. They will always remember us for bringing the gospel to them and they will be our guarding angels. I am so grateful President Huang for issuing the temple recommends to the boys with short notice and that Sister Corinne Nelson gave us the opportunity to baptize her ancesters. Now the boys have 51 more angels praying for them. Clayton said he cannot wait to do it again. Also special thanks to Auntie Nancy for going to temple with us by subway. #temple#baptismforthedead #deacon"
We also visited the popo that we rented one half of her apartment and lived there for a year. We also went to see the new FAO Swartz toy store which we waited in line around the block to see that its much smaller than the original store, since we were there we also saw the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center. The next day we visited National Museum of Mathematics where the kids had hands on with all kinds of fun things made from using math.
