Archive for March 2011

This story is inspired by a blog by Anna about her lack of interest in college basketball and how it's similar to our situation.

Of all the years we've been married, we watched many movies in comfort of our laptops in our beds and never watched TV. For one reason we couldn't get any broadcast stations where we live and secondly we didn't want TV as a main source of babysitting and lastly there's never really anything good on broadcast TV except news and sports. Even when I wanted to watch a game or two of football and/or basketball, Abbey would sit next to me chatting away on her laptop.

But this time is different. She got onto March Madness for one purpose and one purpose only: she found out her school's BYU basketball team is very good this year and she want to watch JIMMER. Since moving to this new house, we couldn't get our dsl from the old house so we had to get Comcast cable Internet and we only wanted Internet. Apparently we get some basic channels for free too! And it happens that BYU's game was on one of the channels. Abbey was very excited. We invited the Kuehne's over for dinner and then watch the game. It was quite exciting to have my wife and boys (Cayleigh's gone to bed already) and another family rooting for JIMMER. Abbey was all into the game as well as the boys jumping up and down for each 20 - 30 footer 3 point shots he sunk. We went through a whole big bag of potato chips and two big bowls of popcorn cheering BYU all the way to the win! By the time the game was over it had well past 10pm, which is the first time the boys ever stayed up that late.

With this, we had a great family home evening and the boys learned a lot about bball and BYU.

So Spring is finally here and I like it! Since the weather is nicer, we are getting out more and doing things out of the house. But then again its kind of funny b/c you think that we would do warm activities, however we’re taking out kids ice skating lessons; in Spring. But we did get a chance to go to the park so the kids can get out of the house.

This is the first time the kids went ice skating. Since we haven't done anything for the winter mom decided to take the kids for some ice skating sessions. It was rough for them at first but after falling many times they got the hang of it and was having lots of fun while continuing to fall. Mom dressed the kids up to be well padded to minimize bruising all over the body. But they thoroughly enjoy the session.

Her tiny little skates...so cute!

The boys were getting ready for some fun too!

See they can't wait to get in but it wasn't their time yet.

It's always nice to hold on to someone...

Clayton already getting the hang of it after the first 15 mins on the ice.

Bold man...

Even had fun falling!

Brennan's in a different class, so he's on his own.

A little trotting, knee bending, and he slow gets the hang of it.

A little self practice and...

See some amazing things you can do...hahaha (I think he was about to fall)

Since we couldn't get close enough to Brennan, we were able to record his siblings small little ice-capades.

The kids are doing really good in s sense that they learned how to get up on their own and even after falling down, they can get up to fall back down again and still have fun! Awesome!
