2017-10-12 Pumpkin Carving

Another year of pumpkin carving fun! This year we have two new additions to our tradition: Phoenix! and our cousin Kevin. We carved it at Dee's house. They sure had a lot of fun!

Week of October 05, 2017 - Abbey in HK leaving Da and kids home

It's another year that Abbey has gone back to Hong Kong to her best friend's wedding. In 2016, it was Peggy and this year it's Karrie. This better be her last time going back to HK for her whatever friend wedding all by herself. Leaving Da alone with the three kids was not very easy for him. You may think that since the kids are older, they are easier to take care but on the contrary they have so many activities that usually require two people to drive them to those classes now is just Da taking them.

While Abbey was in HK, her neighborhood friends helped Da out with the kids too. Da took the entire week to go to work late so in the morning he can get the kids ready for school. He would even drive other neighborhood kids to school too. Then he would drop FF at one of the friend's house, then he would go to work. After school, the neighborhood moms would take the kids home until Da returns. When he comes home, he tries to make sure the kids do their homework and music practice while he prepares dinner.

Since Da doesn't like to eat out and didn't really have time to buy groceries, he got creative and cooked whatever's left over in the fridge, freezer, and pantry. Since he goes to work late, he actually has time to make hot breakfast for the kids. Abbey usually wakes up early to cook lunch for the kids, which Da wasn't able to do so they all bought lunch for the week. But for dinner, the kids were impressed and actually ate the dinners Da made.

Abbey eats yummy food, goes to cooking lessons and travels with her parents while Da is camping with the kids and Ethan for scout overnight camping. It was a little hectic for Da on the Friday night camping since he has to take kids to the campsite, setup the tent, then take Brennan to robotics which is about 45 mins away, go back to the camp site to cook dinner for the kids, then rush back to the robotics class to pickup up Brennan and was stuck in traffic for an hour and made it back in time to put the kids to sleep at the camp site.
