Ahhh..the month of June is finally over. It seemed like a quick month but man its probably one of the busiest months we go through. First there's Brennan's Birthday (that Abbey spends lots of time to prepare his party), then Father's Day is next, followed by Da's Birthday, and then to end the whole month with Abbey's Birthday(evidence below) and to throw in a curve ball our aunt gave us a short notice that she want to visit us from San Francisco and would like Da to take her to visit New York. And in between these crazy days, we go visit new babies, making a mess in the house, and going to pool parties.

So its finally over and hopefully July will be a bit slower.
Nevertheless we managed to get in some surprises for Abbey and her Big Three O Birthday.
So on Friday early even Da just thought that he will bake a cake to surprise her. On occasion, Abbey would go out with her 'mom's club friends' to get away from husband and kids to chit chat about girl stuff. With the help of Da's cousin, Nancy, at home Da quickly fed the boys and start working on gathering and mixing all the ingredients to make the cake.
To make a cake from scratch takes some skills that would require all three boys to accomplish. As you can see, the mix can be applied to legs and clothes.
Mr. Brennan is helping with gathering all the ingredients.
As we have only a short two hour time frame from Abbey going out to eat and coming home, Da realizes that he can't find certain things in the house. For one thing, the cook book uses butter for the cake, but we have no butter or can't find the butter, so Da uses "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter" and then since he can't find the electric mixer, super fast double hands would have to do.
The boys really get a kick out of this as you can see. Normally we make pancakes in the morning but this is much bigger than pancakes.
And of course, Mr. Clayton loves to help cleanup whether it needs clean up or not.
While mama was out with friends on Friday night, the boys helped me baked a yellow cake(sorry no finished product pictures-forgot, but the other moms said it was very good) and personalize the wrapping paper with stickers and drawings and love.
Da even managed to "secretly" call the girl friends at dinner to come over to the house to sing Happy Birthday song. After their outing, they left Abbey at the restaurant and sped to the house and hid downstairs before Abbey got home to surprise her. What a surprise!
Saturday it was a semi-normal day. The normal routine and at night Adam and Sophy were so nice to babysit so Robert and Tiff can can go out with us to a nice dinner for Abbey's birthday too.
Good thing she was washing dishes and not holding her chopping knife. But from the looks of her face, I don't think she was expecting anyone to stop by our house.
This is not the cake I baked; it is from Alexis Chang whom also setup the surprise. I think Abbey like the whole birthday thing since both of us really don't celebrated that much. But since she hit the Big Three-O, why not celebrated in a big way with friends!!!
On Sunday alot of members in church congratulating her on her birthday and gave her cards. The sister missionaries announced her birthday after the baptism. There was more than 30+ people singing Happy Birthday to her. She was thrilled. But this was not the end of it, her friends threw her another surprise birthday party after Church. While Abbey was cleaning dishes, her friends from Owing Mill, two other families from Church and three cousins walked in. The surprise party last for more than three hours and everyone had a blast. Abbey even got two gifts: a beautiful white purse and a nice top.
Abbey claims this is the best birthday ever since she came to the States in 1998.
