Abbey with 3.1 kids to care for at home is something of the extraordinary. She keeps them busy by teaching, training, planning and feeding all three while keeping herself sane by talking with other moms. At the end of the each day she wonders why she keeps this up; because at the beginning of each morning she is reminded with the great smiles and kisses from all her kids: Zhao Kids.
Clayton joined boy scout again last year and one of the requirement for his current rank is cooking. Because of Omicorn variant, the Klondike Derby Campout was postponed to this weekend. Clayton signed up to be main cook for his patrol and Abbey signed up to be the parent cook.
After deciding his menu for two breakfast, one lunch and one dinner, Clayton and mom went to Costco and Walmart to get all the ingredients. Clayton, "this is the longest time I ever shop."
We left home at 4pm and met everyone at church to pickup tents and other stuff. Clayton started to cook on Saturday. It was challenging to cook the first time all by himself, especially when your chuck box was messy and pots and pan were not cleaned. Luckily, he got another chuck box to use. Then he found out he forgot to get oil for his pancake. Luckily, his patrol complained but still ate all the food he cooked.
On the other side, Mom was cooking for the parents, she only needed to cook lunch and dinner while other mom took care the breakfast. She was happy to find out Little Bennet Campground has filter at the water pumps. She made Turkey sandwiches and chicken noodle soup for lunch. Clayton made sandwiches with ham.
After lunch the patrols went to stations and complete different challenges. They learned to work together to solve problems.
One of the competition was dessert competition. We got the Pineapple upside down cake recipe from Sister Nicole Hunter. Clayton made a cake with Joel's help. It turned out pretty good, however, it was eaten up by the patrol before they could send it to the judge.
For dinner, mom made taco salad and egg drop soup with king mushroom and shrimp. The soup turned out beautifully.
Ms. Leslie cooked awesome breakfast for us: Break taco with egg, turkey sausage, and cheese. On Sunday, we had French toast, bacon and oatmeal.

One Sunday, troop 773 won the first place of the derby race. They practiced hard and Shane the little first year scout fell two times during practice and final race. We were glad he was ok and he was so happy to hold the big trophy.

As I was cleaning photos from each month and looking at the photos, I can't help but noticed that our kids can sleep anywhere and any time. There's something nostalgic about them just able to fall asleep anywhere. Teenage years.....
