Abbey with 3.1 kids to care for at home is something of the extraordinary. She keeps them busy by teaching, training, planning and feeding all three while keeping herself sane by talking with other moms. At the end of the each day she wonders why she keeps this up; because at the beginning of each morning she is reminded with the great smiles and kisses from all her kids: Zhao Kids.
It was a beautiful day that we finally biked with the Bendall family. We have been talking about it for months and chose a perfect day. We started in Perceville VA and biked to Ashburn to have BBQ. The kids loved it. Thank you Bendalls.
Apparently we've been to the BBQ many years ago when we too the kids biking with the Wei family back in 2014. So it was great to have the BBQ again.
Just in one month our kids did so many activities!
FF continue to enjoy all the great outdoor activities with her girl scouts troop.
SS really enjoyed playing volleyball. This is his third or fourth season Saturday volleyball training classes. He loves it. Even though it tires him out each time, he wants to go back and get better.
CC finally have 60 hours of provisional driving. He learned a lot and has improved his driving skills significantly. He will be taking his road driving test this coming Friday, 10/08, to get his Driver's license.
SS not only play volleyball, he also joined the marching band at school! Apparently this year they are short of flute players for the marching band and enlisted violinists. He loves the exciting of playing with the band when his school football games are played at his school home games.
Also SS decided that he wanted to join the boy scouts again after he went to Troop 773's meeting, which our neighbor's son recently joined. He really liked the people and what they are doing. The wonderful thing is that our neighbor doesn't mind driving SS every week to the meetings.
Since SS stopped scouts for about years, many of his records aren't kept so he had to redo some of them and starts step by step to get his ranks from Scout Rank. We are hoping he can get the first four ranks by the end of Winter and eventually get his eagle before graduates from high school. He is determined to get that achievement.
SS first camping trip is backpack camping. Since we donated some of the scout hiking gear, mom went into over drive and scour facebook and was able to find SS a really nice hiking back for FREE! The at the scout meeting exchange, he was able to get a brand new pair of boy scout pants and hiking boots that are practically never worn! He was excited and ready!
He had to carry about 20-25 lbs of equipment (sleeping bag, tent, food, water, clothes) and hike for 5 miles at Little Schloss in Woodstock VA. In that 5 miles they ascended 1,300 feet in elevation. We weren't sure if SS would be able to do it.
After the backpack camping trip, he was really really happy and really really like the camping activity. He enjoyed the other scouts and thoroughly had a great time. He said it was one of the best hiking trips he had. He said one of the best part was climbing rocks straight up and looked very scary but it was very very fun too!
CC at first was reluctant but mom suggested he go to his senior year home coming to hang with his friends. So he finally purchased tickets. He needed a little help ironing his shirt. And the only photo I was able to get of him as we were getting out of the house going to his school home coming. He has more photos in his phone that is he reluctant to share (maybe one day)
