The Zhao Family

Abbey and Mindy Ly teamed up to organized a scouting trip so Henri and Brennan can spend some time together on a scout activity. So we carpooled with Greg Ly and Henri to go to a Orienteering Activity in Upper Marlboro MD. The activity was organized by a big group and the leader of Henri's troop invited us. We had a really fun time with them. The boys teamed up and learned all about using compass and how to orient themselves usings natural landmarks, compass, and learned how to read topical maps to navigate around to find things all over the area. Greg and I just sat around and talk while the boys went orienteering.

Towards the the end of the all day activity, they had awards for various things. We wanted to leave early but the organizer asked us to stay thinking the boys didn't win anything. But low and behold, they actually won the Top 20 for placing the dots closest to the things they found on the map for the 12 yo group. They actually won 11th place!! They missed it just by ONE point to be in the top 10th place.

On 11/30 FF had her piano recital with MaryJo's class. 

After all the tears practicing at home, she actually performed pretty well!

We did our annual pumpking carving with the cousins. This year we also have Abbey's parents to join us.
