The Zhao Family

This summer the only thing that Abbey put the kids on was swimming. They wake up early in the morning around 7:30 and go swimming each morning. That's a form of exercise Abbey want to get out of them. They did manage to shed of from 20-40 seconds from when they started to when the season ended. 

The hot air balloon festival was a bust! When we heard about it we were all excited to go! Abbey paid for the tickets and packed our chairs and blankets to go. On the way there, at the highway exit Da hears something funny with the shocks of the van. He thought it was the hiking sticks he recently put in the car. After exiting the highway, the noise became more prominent even after Abbey has held the hiking sticks from making noise. Da quickly drove to the side of the busy road to check out what is going on, to find out that the strut has rusted out and poking out into the windshield on the passenger side. He immediately called his mechanic and they said don't drive it anymore and get it towed. 

At this point, Da was really glad Abbey told him to kept the road side insurance. So while a tow truck was on the way, how will the family get a ride home? He called the Ning family and they were fortunately not doing anything that day and came to the rescue, an hour away from their home. They drove two cars: one for us to use and one for them to drive home. They were incredibly gracious to let us use it so we can continue driving to the hot air balloon festival. 

When we arrived at the festival entrance, which was a very long line getting in, we were told that the hot air balloons were put away because it was too windy. So by the time we entered into the park, the only thing was still out were the baskets so people can step in the them to pull the fire for the hot air balloons. There were inflatable slides but those lines were extremely long too since there are not hot air balloons. 

The only good thing was that they had a fireworks show are the end and that was pretty good since we were about 100 foot from where they shoot it off. And Brennan was very thoughtful and gracious to buy everyone pizza since we were all starving! That was the highlight of the night!

Jacob has become our extended child. He pretty much comes to our house quite often after church. The kids pretty much adopted him to be part of their sibling.

YumCha at Silver Fountain. We were so hungry, all the food you see went in 10 minutes, literally.

The garage from the Bolands house that the 4H Robotics club has been attending for years has finally come to an end. Their child has moved on and so they want to claim the space back. We helped clean the garage and say our goodbyes.

Since Abbey didn't sign up the kids for summer activities or classes, she used to the money on food instead, well over $300 of food!!

Abbey became a citizen a few months ago and she already registered and vote and did her part as an American citizen!
