Another exciting part about going to Utah is their powdery snow. For us, being so fortunate that it snowed the before we arrive in Utah, there was plenty of snow in the mountains for us to go skiing. Cary Ning was very gracious to take a day off to take us to go skiing at Alta. The kids loved the Utah dry powdery fluffy snow. Since Lauren was 3-4 months pregnant, Abbey went on a shopping spree with her while the kids went skiing, buying all kinds of maternity clothes.
Since SS has joined volleyball, he wanted to see some BYU volleyball games. And boy were we treated very well! First we got free tickets to watch the game and then we didn't know Martin Wright, grandma Florence Wright's son, was a hardcore fan of BYU volleyball teams. After we caught up with each other, he brought us to the best seats, gave us BYU game shirts, caught a free mini volleyball they where tossing to fans and gave it to SS, treated us to the 'must have' CougarTail 3 foot long donut, and after the game, since he knew all the players, got us photo ops with them. SS was beyond ecstatic!
Dixon and Grace are into ice skating so FF wanted to go ice skating too. So all the friends kids showed up and skated around the ice rink having a great time!
When SS heard that BYU volleyball team was playing another another night, he wanted to watch it again! So we got free tickets again to watch both games and even got free shirts and were on the megaTV several times! During the second game, SS was really into the games. It was a very close game that BYU won the first two sets but they end up lose the next 3 sets to lose the game.
The photo above is related to a very very funny story. The player's name is Kupono Browne. After the loss of the second game, the players went back to the locker room while the spectators were leaving. We waited around a little longer and then went to the restroom. While walking to the men's restroom, this player walked in. I told SS that there's a volleyball player in the stall and he should go to the next to try to talk to him. SS was super nervous and first went to the sink, then went to the next stall. I walked about and a few moments later the player leaves and SS come out of the bathroom as well. He whispered to me "Dad, I didn't pee" I was confused and said why not? and SS response was "I was so nervous I couldn't pee" I laughed really hard. We walked back to the gym area and waited a little longer for Kupono to come out and took a photo of him to remember him and this story :)
