This has been in the planning for a long time. Finally SS was able to finalized a weekend to go camping with his school friends. He was ecstatic. Some have never went camping before. He created a Discord group chat and start chatting away to plan the camping trip; packing list, shopping, and who's going to do what. Then the weekend is getting closer, the went shopping to Walmart to get the food they want to eat.
We were watching the weather for that weekend. We planned to camp out Friday and Saturday night. However on Friday it rained a lot more than anticipated so we decided to stay overnight at our house. We played Monopoly and Scattergories. It was wildly entertaining and so much fun and laughter. Then we watched a movie and the boys slept in their sleeping bags in the basement.
The next morning we ate pancakes and fully stuffed the van and car to go camping at Little Bennett Regional Park. The Abbey, FF, Catherine, and boys unpacked and setup tents, while SS and Da went to a scouts plane activity. They played games and made a pit fire.
Later in the afternoon, they played volleyball, started cooking, made blueberry cobbler, and everyone had a great time chopping wood.
The boys chatting late into the night while the girls went to bed. In the middle of night, it was around 40F and quite cold. No one complained. Everyone woke up the next morning, cooked breakfast and cleaned the camp site and went home. They all had an awesome time and already planning for Spring camping.
