This year, Da organized another Dragon Boat race for the church youth. So after much planning and organizing, on Monday Memorial Day, the branch youth held another successful Dragon Boat race event at Riley's Lock. This year there was more youth, close to 50, and over two dozen adults attend the activity. SS invited his school friends and FF invited her friends from Seneca Ward. Da invited Max and Gavin.

This year's race was very close to being canceled due to bad weather forecast on that day. Da was watching the weather very closely each day for an entire week leading up to the race. The morning of the race called for thunderstorm and then lightning. Some people question about the the decision to hold it and was very closed to being canceled, but Da decided to go through with it anyways. It turned out to be a perfect day! Overcast, a little bit of wind, and in the 70s. 

All the kids had fun and ate pizza afterwards.

"This year‘s dragon boat activity that was held last month was a lot of fun. I was able to hang out with my friends from the Seneca ward and the other young woman from our branch. My friends and I were able to have a great time rowing and winning against the adults. The whole morning was a lot fun as I came earlier to help set up and grab lifejackets the other who were there. The event was definitely exciting and I hope to be able to do this again next year."

 May was a crazy month! All the sports activities were wrapping up and since it's SS last year, many of his classes and activities include awards. This is his third year on the team and tonight was no exception. He had a volleyball award at the school's cafeteria, then immediately go to the auditorium for senior awards.

His co-ed vb team is undefeated on this last year of high school. So he went out on a bang! Abbey and Da also printed large pictures so every one the team can sign on the frame and keep the photo.

It was time for awards night. SS didn't expect much but he ended up with several. One most notable is his straight A's in all four years of high school!!! He was able to maintain these grades while in extra curricular activities, achieved his Eagle, was SPL for scouts, went camping and scout meetings, participate and attend many church youth leadership functions and meetings. That is an incredible feat!
