Abbey with 3.1 kids to care for at home is something of the extraordinary. She keeps them busy by teaching, training, planning and feeding all three while keeping herself sane by talking with other moms. At the end of the each day she wonders why she keeps this up; because at the beginning of each morning she is reminded with the great smiles and kisses from all her kids: Zhao Kids.
This is the first time our youth and the Kentlands youth and adults joined the Dragon Boat Race. It was a great experience. On race, our family had a great time watching all these dragon boats race. The youth took bronze while the adults took silver. Not bad for all new inexperienced people.
This year for mother's day, I cooked breakfast and took Abbey to dinner by surprise, thanks to my brother to help babysit the kids. FF color and cut a very pretty flower for mom a week ahead while Clayton wrote a poem, and Brennan wrote mom a letter. Then we all sang to the Primary song, Mother I love you with lyrics that are slightly changed. We practiced several times while mom's not home, Brennan played the piano while Clayton played the violin and FF and I just sang!
Clayton is still in cubscouts while Brennan has moved to Boys scouts. So now we're even more busy taking them to two different pack/troops to do things.
Lately the weather's so nice we've been taking advantage of it going outdoors and enjoying this beautiful weather. We stopped by the Temple and then go hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain
Brennan quits learning piano and started to learn Saxophone since December 2013. After a little longer than a year with Mr. Perry and finished his Elementary Method Book, Mr. Perry finally let Brennan learn Jazz. Mr. Perry makes sure Brennan know he has to work on his classical pieces and exercises before practicing Jazz.
This is his second Jazz song and first time ever jamming with Mr. Perry. Only after one week of practicing by himself.
I was so proud and happy to see how much Brennan enjoyed playing his Alto Saxophone. He surely has the music talent. I hope he will continue to learn and share what he loves with others.
Today Clayton played Gavotte by F.J.Gossec. It is a fairly hard piece but this didn't come about without the consistent support of mom at his side yelling and telling him what to correct. While practicing, he didn't like mom to be like that at all but when show time came he did it flawlessly and was proud of himself achieving it. Then he later thanked mom for consistently 'correcting' him until he perfected it.
