This is one of THE busiest weekends thus far for this year. Starting Friday with FF wanting long hair again.

Then FF and SS had a 'walk to school' day where they walk to school instead of taking the bus. One of the school staff walked all the way to our neighbor to walk with kids back to school which is about one mile away.

Right after school, FF and mama went to girls camping in Virginia which was about an hour away with FF's girl scout's troop joining other troops as well.

Using pretzel sticks, they're learning how to build a teepee for fire. Below they are making slushie from ice and flavoring.

Instead of s'mores with marshmallow and chocolate, since FF doesn't like chocolate, she just eat the marshmallow.

While the girls are out of the house for the weekend, the boys have to survive at home by themselves. So ingenious CC covers his eyes with food wrapper to protect his eyes from cutting onions to cook for dinner. It didn't' seem to work as well as planned for some reason. Nonetheless a great idea!

But the boys did manage to get dinner with everyone doing something. The next day, Saturday, 5/7 was hectic since Da has Dragon Boat training from 10am until noon. He was a team captain and was in charge of coordinating 20+ people for rides to the training and making sure everyone turned in their forms. There was no point taking the boys being bored to death while they can't get in the water in DC. So he dropped off the boys to his sister's house early at 8am. Then Clayton has violin at 9:30am which his sister helped out. They also did get to hang out with their cousins the rest of the time until 6:30pm.

For mother's day, Da and his siblings too their mother to eat at the restaurant she picked. Abbey and FF came straight back from camping to meet everyone at the Restaurant, Da's sister and brother and the rest of the kids drove to the restaurant while Da decided to bike to the restaurant. The bike ride was about 8.5 miles to the restaurant since he didn't want to drive there and drive two cars back home.

The next morning it was Abbey's turn to enjoy mother's day. FF helped Da' cook breakfast and she prepare the tray of food to bring upstairs to mom.

As you can tell, Abbey was very pleased food was brought to her.

For mother's day, Abbey's wish to do nothing was granted. After church, she pretty didn't do much. We made a mango smoothie with our new mixer, she went to nap while Da played with the kids. Then at dinner, the request for steak was cooked and she woke up to food ready and the kids helped cleaned the house, set the table and enjoyed a wonderful meal at dinner. It turned out the way Abbey request.

It's been a crazy last couple weeks with Abbey doing taxes for many more clients this year. So we try to keep things low key while the weather's been on the cooler side lately. There was a STEM open house at Clayton and FongFong's school. The both of them we and FF got very serious using the droppers to perfectly color code the petri dish. She was so impressive that the presenter was quite surprised at her patience and persistence.

After SS's violin performance, he started to take photos and videos of other performers. And even his friend, David came over to see what he's doing.

Today was truly one of the Spring days that was really nice! So we went to Wheaton's Brookside Gardens to see the tulips. Since Abbey loves tulips and we were fortunate enough that they all bloomed and the color coordination just made the whole thing very beautiful. Afterward we biking around the park as well.
