Brennan was done with Summer Jazz Camp on Friday and on Sunday he left to go to scout camp for one whole week with the Branch and Kentland's Young Men at Goshen Scout Reservation in Virginia which is about 3 1/2 hours away. Only scout leaders and scouts are allowed to go; no parents or family members. This is his first year going camping all by himself with other scouts. It was kind of weird moment since it's the first time he's left us to go on his own.
Since our branch youth has combined Kentland's youth for almost two years, this is one of the blessings of having more youth. They can go on excursions with kids their age group and standards that we do not need to worry that much.
This hiking back pack along with other scout gear are all free from the scouting-cycling.
The will miss their older brother..maybe.
For the nearly 20 years I've been in the branch, I've never seen our branch have young men in scouts and suddenly we have five! - one of which is my son!
Here are the three scout leaders from Kentland's that are taking their 8 scouts and our 5 scouts for the week long camping trip.
