Since our church will not continue our relation with BSA next year. The boys did not join the annual week long boy scout camp in Goshen like previous years. This year the boys and Ethan went to New Germany State Park and camp for two days with Brother Hunter.

Cayleigh showed Ethan how to tie his shoe laces.

The boys had alot of fun.

Brother Hunter fed them well. Clayton gained three pounds that week.

This year Brennan joined the MD 4-H Congress and stayed at UMD College Park campus for five days. We sent him to the dorm on Sunday and picked him up on Thurs.
Brennan wrote this article for Lucky Post after the 4H congress:

For 4-H Congress this year, we went to the University of Maryland campus for five days, June 23 to 27, and spent those days learning about careers and job opportunities on out career tracks. There were about 7-8 people from Montgomery county, and we were chaperoned by Tabitha Gregory, who had recently graduated college in UMD. The four different career tracks were STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Agricultural Education, Health Education, and BLaPPS (Business, Law and Politics, Political Science). On the 24th through the 26, we had two sessions each day that exposed us to different opportunities in UMD. I was in the STEM track, and various careers presented to us included tree science, aerospace, and virtual/augmented reality. We lived on campus in one of the dormitory buildings, and each of our classes were held inside of different building on campus. Between our classes, we would hold our meals in the Diner, which served various selections of food including (but not limited to) pizza, pasta, chicken, burgers, and salads. After our activities during the day, we were able to have activities and games we play in teams to have fun, like scavenger hunts and party games. One night, we were even able to go to the University’s Terp Zone, which had billards/pool tables, bowling, video games, and a movie theatre. On our last full day at Congress, we were able to work on a service project and create scarves, dog toys, and blankets for shelters, and then held a party to celebrate our week. In the end, 4-H Congress was a great experience, and I encourage everyone 14 and over to go to the 2021 4-H Congress, and have a good time!
