2021 February March kids cooking

While still stuck at home during Covid and it's still cold outside, mom continues to teach the kids to cook at home. Now they are taking taking turns Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to cook. Sometimes mom helps out but as the kids get better and better at cook, they are cooking the entire meal all by themselves. And they turn out delicious!

2021-02-20 Chinese New Year dinner

Gun hay fat choi! It is Chinese New Year once again! Mom makes sure to prepare the house, putting up banners of wealth and prosperity and jianzhis (Chinese paper cuttings) sent from Popo from Hong Kong- Even during this Covid season, Mom is steadfastly keeping up with tradition.

Mom has crushed it again with her culinary skills, creating a delicious New Years Meal!

FF decided to unleash her inner romanticism and give this chicken a peck... :)

Off to grandparent's house we go! This year, we sadly couldn't go to grandma's and grandpa's on New Year's week. Dad had a coworker test Covid-positive at work and needed to get tested himself to make sure that it was safe to visit grandparents. Without results until later in the week, we decided not to take the risk of visiting family and stayed at home. However, we did get to schedule another dinner with them the following week to make sure we kept up our traditions!

After dinner, Dad, like always, came up with a brilliant game to play with grandparents. Since they had extra quarters laying around, the kids were able to gamble a little with their coins while playing Big-2, the card game. Everyone would put in a quarter every round and whoever won the round would take what was in the middle. By the end, grandpa ended up striking gold and winning round after round! Everyone was happy and completed the day in happy spirits.

2021 Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!! This year, FF had a little special plan in mind. With the promise of SSL Hours, (Student Service Learning Hours), FF was tasked to make 5 valentines day bags for an elderly home. Loading each one with hand-written cards and gifts, the elderly will be in for a big surprise!

With a little help from SS, Dad was able to make a delicious breakfast while mom was in a reunion with her HK friends. Fried egg, grapes, ham, kiwis and pancakes with peanut butter were the perfect things to complete her morning.
