This year has been an incredible year for SS. He has started to really like volleyball and went to try outs with his friend John for the coed team. Interestingly enough he made the first cut but Ben didn't, however Ben did try out for the boys team and made it. So SS was nervous that he might not make the second cut, but was really ecstatic when he found out he made the team!
He really loves his coach and teammates since they are super encouraging and supportive. And for some reason, they team decides to chose SS to pick him up for team photos after each game. We think it's because he's the lightest of all the guys so it's easy to pick him up. The coach constantly post updates on Instagram of the teams games and progress. Abbey follows their IG and see all the updates and comments on them.
SS is really fortunate to be part this team. The team has not been undefeated but also won every single set of games. Thanks to five seniors who's been playing many years and with clubs outside of school has really elevated their team and their spirits.
Our family attended the championship game and it was an amazing and super competitive game. The team has always won three straight sets to win games, but they were not able to do that. They were on a roll to win the first two sets thinking they will win the third straight set but the other team, Kennedy, came back to win the next two sets (ruining their perfect record), to push the game into fifth set nail biter. At one point, the team was two points behind, but they endured and came back defeating Kennedy 15 - 13. What a game!
