今個星期我們好興奮！我們有好多機會同朋友見面，幫他們認識教友。成個星期我們好忙，走嚟走去！
This week was pretty exciting! We had the opportunity to meet a couple friends and help them meet our members. We were running around all week and were so busy.
Not too many crazy stories happened this week, but definitely some special opportunities to see God's Hand in the work. Because of this, I figured I would share some from my journal this week, especially about two friends who have been such a blessing to meet. This Friday entry was pretty long, so I have attached the full thing to the bottom if you are interested to read it all!

Today is a day I want to remember for a long while. It doesn't have much to do with any part of the day except the last hour of the day, but the rest of it was also just so blessed. The first part of the day started with a lesson on the spirit world [with Mike]...
[last hour of the day] ... the night went from good to sooo good. First we wanted to meet Earnest, who came to church Sunday for the first time, with that being the first meeting, but just flew back to India for vacation. He didn't pick up, so we started contacting other friends. After a bit he texted and said that he would be able to call about a half hour later. We get a text from Sabin then, another who we just started to meet with; 15 years old from Hong Kong but Nepali, and is so golden that he didn't want to pray for his test because "[God's power shouldn't be accessed for such a trivial thing]" and by His plan Elder Hall had been free to help teach Earnest, so we called Sabin instead and taught him a simple lesson on prayer. And THEN, we had the lesson with EARNEST! He called us in his car from India, and bore such a strong & simple testimony of how he had found faith in God and wanted to continue this path for the rest of his life. He is GOLD. We plan to meet with him every night and I am so excited. I have been exceedingly astonished today. Thank you Heavenly Father.
Since that day, we have been able to meet both Sabin and Earnest multiple times. Sabin has been so interested in the history and intricacies of the church, and we were able to explain the church's stance on a lot of things he had questions on. We were also able to make a goal to meet with Earnest over phone call every day, especially with his strong faith and desire to learn more about the gospel! The work has been hastening so much and I am so grateful to have Elder McClellan here as my companion, who has been pushing so hard every day and constantly setting high expectations for both our ready friends and ourselves. The hours feel like they fly by and it is crazy when we find ourselves already running back to our apartment, trying to make it back on time.
This is why I named this email the same as Hymn 252, "Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel," which is a phrase used by our early saint pioneers as they pushed their carts as they traveled west across the plains. Just this week, we were able to hit 16 lessons with members participating, more than I have ever accomplished. I feel so privileged to work in such an busy and exciting area, and I look forward to setting high goals and trying to accomplish them once again this week!

This week for a spiritual thought I figured I would share a peculiar topic that has been mentioned several times this week, one that I believe is one of the most important truths to both know and remember. This topic was the topic of trials, rather, where is God during them? Why does He not always help us when it seems like we need Him most? Why would He abandon me. Is He here? Does He love me?
Here are two scriptures I share
2 Corinthians 12
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Ether 12:27
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
God knows us perfectly and knows where we are and what we need to progress. Weakness, which includes trials, are made to humble us enough to put our trust outward to Him. As we do this, He will "make weak things become strong unto [us]." We must continue in faith, and do our part, for we will be saved after all we can do.

Today is a day I want to remember for a long while. It doesn't have much to do with any part of the day except the last hour of the day, but the rest of it was also just so blessed. The first part of the day started with a lesson on the spirit world [with Mike] which he loved, understanding the concept of a God of second chances. He really loved the message so much that he said (paraphrased) "I really loved todays message. It really is good." Such a powerfully taught principle. Following him I prepared for District Council (assignments, announcements, etc.) and also got to teach Victor a quick phone lesson! And then headed to Wu HDs house for lunch, where we had hot pot [our first member meal in weeks] Bro lowkey didn't talk to us much, which was sad, but the food was super yummy and we got to chat with his wife, daughter-in-law, and Connie, as well as his two little grandkids! Unfortunately we underestimated the time and needed to sprint to the Hung Shui Kiu Chapel, making it there a little late. However District Council was super effective! I made a change to write down their therefore-what's on the board and I hope to follow up next time. We had an awesome time setting things up to do in the week, including putting locations into our study blocks to keep finding very inspired! Sister Soren shared a wonderful training on following the spirit through a "banana bread" story (it would take too long to write out, but it was miraculous). Then an awesome PMG discussion from E. Brenchley between finding method, joy, and motivation. Shout-out to Elder McClellan in the future for providing some keen insights about DC. A lot of it was from companion council tgt during Weekly Planning. As well as this it is Sister Braun birthday today! We were able to celebrate after dc with melona bars and am so grateful for E. Brenchley and Chan for that. I think it ended our DC on a really nice unity note. The rest of the time after that was devoted to studies as we took the Hing Tit (Light Rail) back home. We were able to have dinner at the burger place nearby and met an old dude getting icecream afterwards! His name is Ben Jau and he was super down to have a chapel tour in the future. So we finished that and some more social media/contacting, and finally headed home for the night. Alright, this is when the night went from good to sooo good.
