大家好!
This week was full of random tasks but we have finished several contracts and will be renewing one tonight at 7. Office work has been pretty busy and will be for the next week because of transfers occurring. It will be interesting because it's my first time leading. Elder Halgren and I will be continuing together here for the next six weeks as well. However we have still seen so many of God's blessings in the work. Here is one of the biggest miracles that happened
'This past Wednesday we had an awesome experience. That day we had the chance to teach and help over seventy religious graduate students tour our chapel. This experience was because the APs had invited their teacher to tour, and about a half year later he organized his students to come together. The class consisted of training pastors and religious teachers. That day all of our zone missionaries and some members came, twenty missionaries and around ten members, over a hundred total. We had the chance to share the fundamentals of our gospel and discuss the doctrinal differences with other churches.' It brought special meaning to Harold B. Lees quote, "Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved."
I was reminded of this experience later in the week during a talk given by Sister Lee in Sacrament, where she emphasized the meaning behind worshipping and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. She mentioned the tendency for people to get into the routine of rituals rather than true worship, where true faith could be built. Although some of our principles in our gospel differed from one another, it was such an amazing experience to find these people who had devoted themselves to help others learn of divine identity.
Earlier this week I had the chance to study scriptures, especially in Helaman 10, as the Lamanites began to be converted to the gospel of the Lord. In verses 7-8 it shares And behold, ye do know of yourselves, for ye have witnessed it, that as many of them as are brought to the knowledge of the truth, and to know of the wicked and abominable traditions of their fathers, and are led to believe the holy scriptures, yea, the prophecies of the holy prophets, which are written, which leadeth them to faith on the Lord, and unto repentance, which faith and repentance bringeth a change of heart unto them—
Therefore, as many as have come to this, ye know of yourselves are firm and steadfast in the faith, and in the thing wherewith they have been made free.
Because we share, our testimonies grow.
And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.
Lastly I wanted to leave off with this quotation from Ralph Waldo Emerson from "The Power of Self-Mastery" April 2000: “That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased.”
I know that this is a great work and that it is not always easy, but as we are on the Lords errand we are entitled to the Lords help.
I am running short on time here but I wanted to share that I am genuinely so grateful for all of your help, support, and examples in this mission, and I look forward to sharing more of what I learn next week. There are a bunch of emails I need to reply to too! I read all of them
