It's was a fairly cool day and what better way than to hike a small trail!

The scouts had a visit to the local recycling center. They liked it!

The scouts were helping bag food for the homeless. Even FF helped!

This is SS's masterpiece. His class project to draw and make something for show and tell! He's absolutely in love with the Peregrine Falcon from watching lots of PBS by the Kratt Brother's animal adventures. Impressive!

Since my sons has joined the scouts, we're doing things that otherwise I would never do! Case and point. Their scout leader wanted to prepare the boys to slowly adapt to nature, so we went camping in Western Maryland for the weekend! The weather calls for wind 20-30 mph and that it'll get down to the low 30s at night. I was wondering why in the world would I ever torture myself to be sleeping in a tent outdoors in the windy weather freezing my butt off, especially if I don't like the cold at all.
For sure the temperature hit 31 degrees and it was more like 35+ mph winds all through the night blowing at our tents and leaves everywhere. The thick sleeping bags was not enough even with three layers of clothing, hoodie, cap, and socks sleeping on the cold hard floor. The kids somehow slept through the night without a complaint. The next night I adjusted accordingly and we did enjoy the entire camp out with the rest of the scouts camping, making camp fire, riding the train, playing with snow, and hiking up a very steep mountain side.
