大家好!中秋節快樂 !
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival. There were so many families on the streets this week to talk to and many mooncakes were eaten. Sorry for an email with no Chinese this week. I just finished writing and I don't have time to add more.
This past Sunday I was able to have exchanges with the APs and have an interview with President Hill. Outside of my companionship, 6/7 of the companionships in the zone are training so the main topic has really been focused on how to support these individual elders and sisters. During this interview President shared these scriptures from 3 Nephi 27, narrating Christ's sermon with the Nephites in the Americas.
19 Behold I have given unto you my gospel, and this is the gospel which I have given unto you—that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me.
27 And know ye that ye shall be judges of this people, according to the judgment which I shall give unto you, which shall be just. Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am.

This scripture highlights two key principles. First is Christ's focus on doing the will of the Father. It was very interesting to see the impact of this principle during the Mid Autumn Festival and seeing the impact of fathers in a family dynamic. Apart from being a leader to the family, successful fathers with obedient children, more than anything, become examples that their children come to strive to become. As children we do not know everything but our Father in Heaven does. That is why we trust Him as a child does to his father.
Secondly Christ also notes the privilege we will have to know of His Gospel and the divine principles following it. His last invitation is to follow in his steps, to become "even as [he is]." I find this principle interesting because of our unique responsibility to help others come unto Christ just as His Father has commanded him. One of the simple principles shared in our zone conference was to remember the importance between helping people come to Him rather than to just go. Put simply it is the need to lead by example.
It emphasizes our own need to be personally converted, worthy to be inspired by the Holy Ghost, and truly desire to help others do the same. "...[F]or when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men" (2 Nephi 33).
I hope that if you are reading this that you will find time to evaluate what matters most in your life, and if you are living in a way that would suit such priorities to come first.
I know and testify that any alignment we make to change our lives to fit the will of God's will inevitably allow us to find a light that both we and others around us need.
We are having six baptisms between last week and this week in this zone. The Lord is hastening His work. Please continue to pray for them. Thank you all for your prayers and messages of support!
