This summer due intensive heat and then suddenly a horrific storm called Dorecho swept through the Mid Atlantic and just wipe out trees including electric poles leaving many hundreds of thousands of homes without power. Though we're fortunate not to have trees damaging our property nor cars, we were without power for three days. The temperature was hovering around 99-105 degrees, so we abandoned house, pack all our foods and went to my parents house that's 20 minutes away but with AC and power.
Due to this storm, many utility companies were called from other states to help out. Well those companies occupied the space where the fireworks were. So the city decided to postpone it for two weeks. Finally we were able to find a great spot with very people and little traffic with a great view to see the fireworks close to our house. It was great, the kids loved it!
