"This is the "worst" spring break", Clayton. "We just cleaned all day."
Thanks to Covid, Mom's tax deadline extended to 5/17/2021 and Da decided it was the best time to do Spring Cleaning. Da sent up a schedule and we spent Friday to Friday all week to clean around the house.
Things we accomplished:
1) Vacuumed and deep clean all carpets.
2) Vacuumed and deep clean all area rugs/carpets
3) Vacuumed and wax all hardwood flooring
4) Cleaned all walls in bedrooms and living room.
5) Dust whole house
6) Cleaned kitchen vent, stove, oven, fridge, blinds
7) Cleaned stair railings
8) Gardening: Removed dead grass/weed, loosened the soil, planted grass seed, fertilized the soil, put mulch.
After this week, kids learn:
1) How to clean applicances with certain cleaners
2) How to use carpet cleaner
3) How much work it takes to clean the house.=)
Lesson of the week:
1) Keep the house tidy and clean on a regular basis to avoid "rubbing" old stains/buildup.
2) Cleaning is hardwork!
3) Hire someone to do the job or have the kids do the work! hahaha.
Thankfully, most of the cleaning is done at the end of the week. We got to spend the weekend at Seven Points, PA camping with Cousins. =)
Also, mom got two planters for the deck. Hope we can grow some vegetable this year summer.
