So after 8 weeks of soccer practice Brennan finally got this trophy prize. He was very happy about it from the following pictures. However we weren't too impress with the class since 5 of the classes had substitutes and each doesn't know what the previous teacher did and it was not cheap. So we will get Brennan into other classes.

It is just hot out. The only place Mama will let Brennan play is right outside the front door.

Brennan did enjoy drawing with the chalks. (Thanks to the Halls, this is what they gave Brennan for his birthday)

After Brennan come back from outside and Clayton woke up from his morning nap. They love watching Mama preparing lunch =)

So today is Clayton's first birthday. Yeap its been a year since Clayton was born. He still haven't grown much hair, however his dad has lost some (lots). This year Abbey decided to do things just a bit different: instead she invited a small party for Clayton's friends in the morning and then invited family members at night. As you will see, everyone had lots of fun!! Thank you for all those who made it!!

This is Clayton's playgroup friend from Hong Kong.

From left to right: Isabella, Alvin, and Amelie.

Clayton has been trained to blow air out....

Brennan can't wait any longer!!

This is one of the best pictures of the day. Brennan was really enjoying eating the birthday cupcake on the sofa, then Amelie accidently kicked Brennan's bowl causing his cupcake to go all over his pants. When he realized the mess, he screamed for just about 3 seconds and then continue to eat his cupcake. Then Abbey just comes along with the handi-vac and just suck up all the crumbs between his legs(including the family jewels-good thing it has strong genes); Clayton is seeing what is going on while Angela is just laughing her butt off!!

That's a proud papa for you.

Clayton enjoying his 30 seconds of alone time with the ladies, its his birthday after all.

I am so sad that not everyone come to my party :(

Oh well, resting time for me to drink my milk. He's actually pretty good because when Da feeds him, being a lazy dad, puts Clayton on the sofa on top of a pillow and he just drinks his milk. On the other hand, Clayton wants mom to hold him to drink milk. Dad wins this battle.

-------- Birthday Party Phase 2: Family------------------
.
.

While the adults are chatting away..the younger ones just blow bubbles and lots and lots of bubbles!!

Brennan has mastered the technique.

I love being with Grandma!!

Ok everyone let's gather for the cake cutting (second time)

I think grandma enjoys this more than Clayton.

How many people does it take to cut a piece of cake?

Yeah!! Presents!! Brennan wouldn't want to miss out on the fun either.

Thank you everyone for your awesome lovely and beautiful presents. It was a great turn out and though Abbey and Da were very tired, it was all worth it from the turn out and the enjoyment of family and friend's company !!

Here is Clayton's Birthday party video.

So Da took a day off yesterday to take his mission companion to tour DC.

We took the train downtown since Brennan wants to go on the train ride. He's been playing with Thomas the train set a lot and seeing the Metro trains, I told him one day we will take the train. So it was a great opportunity for it and he was in awe and just look around the train, outside the train, talk with people in the train and was just amazed what it is to be like inside the train. He had been in trains before but I think as he's getting the concept of things, he's understanding them better.

First stop: International Spy Museum. No pictures of inside since cameras are not allowed which is kind of ironic since spies use multiple ways of getting access to information and yet regular people taking pictures of outdated/historic materials are not allowed. (Maybe I should bring a hidden camera in there next time and see if they can detect me)

Next stop: Washington National Mall. Brennan pointing to the Washington Monument.

My mission companion, David, had the greatest comment when we were taking him to the Mall. "I can visit all the museums and the Mall in a couple hours" Then I showed him the map and told him that from the Capitol building to the Lincoln Memorial is about half a mile long and only about a dozen museums to visit, so if he's done in a couple hours I am impressed. But when he step foot on the Mall he as surprised how big it is.

They were expanding/reconstructing a new section at the Air & Space. It's pretty cool.

Since Clayton still don't understand things yet, he's having more fun poking at David's eye.

Last Stop: After the Mall, the Dean family invited us for dinner. It was very yummy. We had a great time, except Brennan was waken up by mom from his nap so he's not too happy.

But soon after dinner's over we got in playing Stuart's XBox 360 and Brennan just had a blast. The day was just great and couldn't be any more fun!

So we are finally getting Clayton to be in the waters..he seems to like it. Brennan on the other hand can dive and swim under water for about 10 seconds, dive and swim by himself with the help of the dumb-bars.

I think its great to seem him with mom and how his little swim trunk has a huge air bubble to hold his butt up..hehe

I am surprised he's kicking ..but does he really know he's kicking or he just wants the duckie now matter what?

Mom's all happy b/c she can finally get in the water....

One of many reasons to swim: to swim with friends.

Do you see a dimple?

He looks so much more mature (just like his baba..haha )

So we come down to the piggy back ride and Brennan was very willing to carry Clayton around. If Clayton grabs on, I can let go.

This past weekend was too good to pass so we decided to visit the National Zoo in Washington DC. Its only an hour drive from our house. We went in the late afternoon. It was just beautiful and Brennan and David had the most fun. Clayton just tagged along and enjoy the scenery. We were fortunate that the Pandas were eating and moving around as you will see in the video, right afterwards they went to sleep. We had a chance to walk around the Zoo to see other animals. It was lots of fun!

We were sitting along the path of the Asian trail to see the Panda bears.

David and Brennan were waving HI to the Emu.

Here's the Panda sleeping right after he ate.

Clayton enjoying the yellow monkey jumping around.

There was an alligator outside and mom have to lift Brennan to see him through the telescope. The alligator was only 5 feet away.

Thats us.

Clayton seems to be so serious in all photos...(must have mom's traits hehe)

That's my boy. See the kid on the left, he copied my idea right after we left.

Clayton refused to be photographed. Nice.

We were looking at the Prairie Dogs and it seems Clayton enjoyed this the most.

The Boys!! with Mr. Triteratop.

Finally he's warming up.

Here's the last stop with the Panda bear.

We had an absolute blast going to the Zoo. We have to do it again when the weather cools down and take the Subway so the kids get a kick out of the rides.
